family outdoor portrait photography | wilkesboro, nc | the church family
We photographed a Bride’s portrait session at the Church family home a year earlier. The Bride’s family and theirs were close family friends. Since they saw how “magical” their woods looked in the Bride’s photos they began planning an outdoor family portrait session of their own with us. We photographed these images back in the Fall when their home and surrounding land was gorgeous with North Carolina Fall foliage (sorry Blogging in a timely fashion for us is so hard). We agree, their woods really do look magical. We enjoyed photographing the Church family and are grateful for the opportunity to create these heirlooms for their entire family.

blowing rock nc engagement by pixels on paper photography
We want to get to know our clients and the best way to do that is during an engagement portrait session. Lucky for us we already knew Chris and Jess who are getting married in Charlotte NC in May. But getting to spend the day with them in a place like Blowing Rock NC, a place that holds a lot of fond memories for Chris as a graduate of Appalachian State University, is the icing on the cake. Listening to Chris tell stories of his college adventures and share his love of the mountains which is already becoming a love for Jess too is precious time that will only make our job that much easier and fun on their wedding day. asheville nc bohemian inspired wedding from pixels on paper photography
Mickey and Ben live in Raleigh and had a destination wedding in Asheville, North Carolina on October 4, 2013. Fall in the mountains of Asheville, NC is beautiful and full of color. It provided the perfect backdrop for their Bohemian inspired wedding day.
As a professional artist Mickey knew she wanted their wedding to incorporate their bohemian and vintage styles and the event really reflected their unique personality. Claxton Farm served as the perfect venue to feature the couple’s beautiful wedding. According to Mickey, “We wanted our day to be a beautiful mixture of the things that shaped us and made us perfect for each other.”

Sam & Olivia came to us with a unique idea for the their engagement portrait session photography. They specifically wanted to use their photos for Save The Date cards and wanted to use the concept of a Photo Booth. Lucky for us we have a portrait studio located in Wilkesboro that lends itself very easily to this concept, especially when we’re in the NC mountains, it’s really cold outside, and it’s December.
Olivia found a chalk board and since she has pretty teacher’s writing she created all the messages. We photographed lots of possible images, shared lots of laughter, and had a whole lot of fun in our own make-shift photo booth in the studio. After selecting their top photos we designed and had printed postcards that the couple mailed. Save The Date cards in leu of Christmas cards = perfect timing! Now that those on the receiving end have been pleasantly surprised we can reveal the final design and some of the fun engagement photos that were taken in the process.
