katy & josh’s wilkesboro nc wedding {nc mountain wedding photographer}
Love is such a powerful emotion, and one that was never more evident than in the wedding ceremony for Katherine Brown and Joshua Isaacs who were married back in November in Wilkesboro, NC. It is easy to see love in this relationship all around. Not only between Josh and Katy, but their love for God and their parents love for them.
Katy’s father, Kevin, is the pastor at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Wilkesboro where the ceremony was held in front of close to 400 family, friends and members of the Mt. Pleasant congregation. Of course there was no way he was going to pass up the opportunity to preside over his daughter’s wedding. There was plenty of emotion all around during the ceremony, starting with Josh’s reaction to seeing his bride for the first time, to Kevin’s tearful advice to his daughter and her new husband. The couple even celebrated their first ever kiss together to conclude the ceremony.
After the ceremony, the room was efficiently converted over from seating to tables and chairs for the reception while we took the newlyweds around the church grounds for their first portraits as husband and wife. With Josh dressed in his Marine dress uniform and Katy’s beautiful wedding dress, it was hard not to get a stunning photo.
Walking back into the reception, the afternoon continued with first dances and LOTS of people coming up to offer congratulations. The couple’s final send off into their new married life was running through a gathering of the guests that all had balloons and streamers, but Josh just had to sneak in one last kiss before they jumped into the car.

What an honor to have both wedding photography by Pixels On Paper and an interview featured in the April/June 2013 issue of Carolina Bride wedding magazine! Carolina Bride magazine is one of the top wedding resource magazines in the Charlotte, NC area and is branching out to reach Brides and Grooms in the NC Mountains and couples planning destination weddings there. Recently having relocated our portrait photography and wedding photography business from Charlotte to the NC Mountains Carolina Bride reached out to us to receive suggestions for those planning a mountain wedding on how to make their guests more comfortable in a mountain environment. We are thrilled to once again have a featured wedding in Carolina Bride Magazine. Carolina Bride is one of the most widely read wedding resources in the Charlotte, NC region. Our clients and friends, Rachel and Jeremy McAdoo’s wedding is featured as a spread in the April/June 2013 issue. The article titled “Family Ties” describes their wedding event and story of how these two love birds met and started their life together as a new family unit. Wedding photos by Pixels On Paper from their wedding venue at the Holiday Inn Center City Charlotte Rooftop Rotunda are shown in the article as well as photos Pixels took at various locations in and around Uptown Charlotte.

kennedy’s 1 year pictures { pixels on paper } first birthday photographers
Turning one year old is such a milestone in a child and parent’s life. Its fun to capture child portraits especially during that one year mark. We encourage our clients to bring birthday cakes or birthday cupcakes into the Pixels On Paper portrait studio during this momentous occasion. We will photograph portraits that are traditional and classic and also portraits of them diving into their very first birthday cake all during the same photography session. The expressions we can capture during these moments are absolutely priceless! Just like these of little Kennedy during her First Year portrait session.
Kennedy’s Mom and Dad are both Appalachian State University Alums. How cute is this ASU gingham and smocked dress she wore???
There aren’t many children at this age that aren’t happier without their clothing. Don’t most take them off anyway? You can tell by Kennedy’s smile that she definitely was.

lucy & glen’s valle crucis wedding photography | pixels on paper boone wedding photographers
Late last year Pixels On Paper Photography found what is sure to be one of our absolute favorite wedding venues in the NC Mountains in Valle Crucis, NC while photographing a fall wedding located at the Inn at Little Pond Farm. The Inn is a French Country house nestled in a pine grove surrounded by a mountain meadow. Like something you would see straight out of a magazine! The owners Gaye and Frank have thought of everything and created the perfect atmosphere for quaint, intimate, weddings in the NC High Country for locals and for those planning destination weddings in the NC Mountains.
Combine this beautiful location and perfect Fall foliage with the most adorable Bride and Groom and we have the ultimate dream for wedding photographers. Lucy & Glen are each in their 50s and this was the first marriage for both. They desired an intimate, fun experience with immediate family and close friends in the North Carolina mountains during the Fall season for their wedding and one that did not necessarily conform to convention.
The outdoor ceremony was followed by a candle lit reception with a 5 course dinner inside the Inn at Little Pond prepared on-site by a private chef. All the guests sat around one long farm table and enjoyed their meal together and celebrated.
We love this description directly from Lucy that describes the unique details of their wedding: “The perspective of the “perfect wedding” can change over the years. As a 50+ year old couple, we are not just starting out in our adult life. We both have experienced full, single lives. For each of us, that life included traveling to unique parts of the world. Our wedding needed to reflect a special bond and joy between two mature, independent individuals whose single life journeys will now become a shared sojourn.”
As a surprise to Lucy, Glen contacted Pixels On Paper prior to the wedding without Lucy knowing and arranged special music and extra photo time with us after the guests had departed to capture their romantic wedding dance.
