Orchard photos ~ time to schedule for Spring 2020
Hello, Outdoor Lovers! Even though we’ve not quite reached the first day of spring, you can almost smell it in the air. Pixels has the exclusive use of a gorgeous orchard and for more than a decade we’ve photographed babies, families, proposals, engagement and prom photos there. It’s time to schedule yours for spring 2020.
For us, this place is magic and more than a few families have chosen to return with us over the years to chronicle the growth of their children or specific milestones. It’s fresh and pretty and there are loads of places to grab portraits that make heirlooms and perfect Mother’s Day or Grandparent’s Day gifts.
We are now booking sessions for March and April, so contact us and let’s start plotting a session among the blossoms. These sessions are limited and happen only for a narrow window of time based totally on whatever wheather Mother Nature throws our way. Get on our schedule early!

Time for Prom Photos!
The more spring I can smell in the air, the more my mind goes to spring events and the season that brings us Easter, flowering trees, voracious house cleaning, veggie planting and, of course, PROM.
Students at Wilkes County schools are buying their gowns, renting their tuxes, making dinner and limo reservations, so the planning is already well underway. You WILL need photos and Pixels on Paper has nearly two decades of prom portraiture experience. We’re ready if you are.
Our outdoor portrait garden is a perfect place to take prom photos of you ladies in your gowns, with your dates or best friends, or to get images perfect for social media of your entire high school clan. When possible, we can also shoot images in our favorite orchard or on location if you have something special in mind.

Why We Love Photographing Faces
Well I don’t know why you guys love faces, but for me, it’s the unexpected, the surprised, the tender, the ridiculous, the charmed… you get me? It’s the expressive nature of the human face. I love the expressions that enter my lens and end up in frames or in albums or on holiday cards. I read that “researchers” have identified 21 distinct facial expressions, but I would swear that there are more.

Couples
Fall in love and suddenly all of it – the excitement, the fascination, the bewilderment, the abject helplessness in the face of the one you love – is easy to spot on the faces of the newly engaged and just married. Cases in point are below.
Happy, Fun Faces
And then there is just love, tenderness, humor, and peace. I could blog about the expressions I’ve seen on people’s faces for months and never repeat a photo.
Kids
Seeing the 21 + expressions on the faces of kids is its own reward.
When families come to us for photographs, I am always excited to see and meet new faces. Once we start the shoot, it becomes more than a joy…. the faces that are displayed remind me why I love my job. There are just too, too many great faces. Family Time – Portraits Together, Part 2
Hi Gang,
Just continuing to encourage you all not only to think about your families and planning a family portrait session this year, but to consider where and when and why.
Location
The Senter family wanted a specific woodland fairy feel for baby Ava’s 6 month portraits. After we chatted, I knew just the spot. If you have an idea in mind, tell me! I’m all ears and have been a scout long before I was a professional photographer.
The Overby’s love and have a generational connection to the orchards and we’ve photographed their lovely and growing family there more than once. If it ain’t broke……
The When
Summer and winter photo sessions outdoors are not off limits. The Blue Ridge, family property, local parks and greenways are all perfect places for casual family sessions. These only require a change of outfits.
The Why
The why is up to you. Why schedule a family portrait session? Because deep down you’ve been wanting to and this is the year.
