Outdoor Location Portraits
Location photos continue to be some of our favorites to review over the years and certainly to shoot. We’re about to enter the end of summer and the advent of fall and sharing some photos of clients of all stripes in a variety of landscapes just felt right.

Senior Portraits – Part II
Senior portrait season isn’t too far away and while you’re getting the last use out of the Slip n Slide and charcoal grill, your rising seniors in high school may not be too excited about college applications and their last year classes, but BELIEVE YOU ME, they are excited about being seniors. We all remember it and it’s high energy, high adrenaline excitement, anticipation and fun.
Senior portraits can be buttoned up or casual, zany, elegant, include props, cars, costume changes, a cap and gown – or not – and be taken anywhere you like.
Here are a few more of our favorites.
Planning an outdoor senior portrait session is a win, if the weather behaves. These photos will not only mark a milestone, but can be used as gifts for grandparents, used in your announcement cards, or just become heirlooms. Wear your cap and gown if you have it or just choose your favorite outfits. We’ll handle the poses, help you choose places and if you prefer black and white to color – no problem. These are for you and about you!

Autumn Family Outdoor Portraits
Autumn in North Carolina is pretty gorgeous and while we’re a little ways out from leaf season (it’s still August for Pete’s sake), it’s good to get a jump on scheduling outdoor portrait sessions for your seniors in high school and for your family.
Our lenses have focused on too many rocks and trees and rivers to count, but we love the fall for that reason. We love the changing seasons, the shock of cool air, the wool sweaters, the boots and the memories created that AREN’T beach, sea and sand. Get out your calendars, choose your location and clothes and give us a call! We’re ready when you are!

Senior High School Portraits
Hey All! We’ve been enjoying our summer and will continue to until the very end. I would say bitter end, but summer is wonderful and so is autumn. It’s way more sweet than bitter.
We hope you are living large too! Get your ice cream, go camping and tubing, have family reunions, read those books that have been stacking up and get some rest. I said so.
Now that that’s out of the way, let’s do a little thinking about the fall and for rising seniors, it means portraits. Below are some of our favorite senior images from over the years, so let this be a nudge to be thinking about location, wardrobe, your schedule and if you would like for these to be part of holiday card, graduation party invitation, given as holiday gifts, blown up life size so that parents can pretend to talk to you after you’ve flown the coop……………. I think there is a pill or therapy for that, but I won’t share it in this blog.
Casual, prom ready, or a variety of wardrobe choices – it’s entirely up to you. The Blue Ridge Parkway, a club golf course, our outdoor portrait garden, your family’s backyard, the same is true of location. Pick where you want to be and we’ll be there!

Babies and Props – because those photos are just too fun
We love a prop. We love a baby in a hat… a baby holding something they may not even recognize. Parents have that prerogative, you know? Want to put a fake mustache on your newborn – go for it. We are willing accomplices and more than happy to capture it all for posterity.
Want to see some favorites as you may be planning your own newborn or kid photo session? We thought you’d never ask.
Bridal tiaras, baseball equipment, Disney characters, knitted aviation gear, whatever you’ve got, we love props and ways of showing off the cuteness of your kids. We also have spaces at our outdoor portrait garden that are perfect for set-ups and play.
