heather and jason | sneak peek | pixels on paper outdoor wedding pictures

OK so we’ve been MIA on the blog scene for a while due to our big move but not to worry, we’ll have more on that coming up soon. In the meantime here is just a small a sneak peek at some of the “work” and fun we were having at Jason and Heather’s wedding last weekend in Asheville at Claxton Farm.

Heather and Jason chose to have a “First Glance” and see each other before the ceremony. Although many are traditionally against it, this is one of the best things a Bride and Groom can do for themselves and their guests. Not only is it the most romantic moment for just the two of them, but it inevitably seems to calm everyone’s nerves before the hectic day that is ahead. A First Glance also allows for more time to be spent getting incredible photographs without the time-sensitivity of everyone waiting on us during the reception.  What we love most about these moments is that we capture more relaxed and joyous expressions that we’ve never been able to capture before the ceremony when the don’t see each other.

The moment when Jason first sets eyes on his Bride without being watched by 100s of wedding guests is breath taking. His reaction is genuine and instinctive without being held back. LOVE IT!

There is nothing wrong with wearing a dress and riding a Red Belly Tractor. Growing up my Grandfather had the exact same one and I’m sure I could be seen many times over doing the exact same thing this little cutie is. Another moment that made me smile.

What a perfect and beautiful end to the night. We’ll share more soon and you will be able to view all of their photos and order prints from our website at www.pixelsonpaper.biz.

anna & jordan {married} | TN country wedding | pixels on paper

Driving through Boone on the day of Anna and Jordan’s wedding we were a little worried to be surrounded by gray gloomy skies for what was to be an outdoor wedding day but as soon as we entered Tennessee we were greeted by beautiful Mountain City blue skies and white fluffy clouds. Top that with a setting of lush green pastures, red barns and white fences = Photographer’s Heaven (and maybe a cowboy’s too)!

This was the first time we’ve ever arrived and the Bride was still in shorts and a tank top running around making last minute decor adjustments and taking care of everyone else. And if you ask Anna’s friends they say, that’s just the way she is.  As someone who lives for every little detail, I can totally relate! She made sure this country inspired wedding had the perfect combination of hand-made details and western flair. Along with lots of love and hard labor given freely by their friends and family the day came together.

There were so many opportunities for us to do what we love to do and take creative photography.  Never once did Anna or Jordan question why we were putting them in a particular environment. They totally trusted that we would give them wedding photos that would capture every emotion and moment that would last a lifetime and for that we are truly grateful.

Take a look at their country wedding and the wedding gallery that we have put together below and let us know what you think.  Our blog loves comments!

erica & andrew {married} | outdoor wedding photos

When we first consulted with Erica about her wedding plans we immediately sensed that this girl really had her priorities in order. She mentioned how she wasn’t interested in getting caught up in all the details and that the most significant thing to her was the actual union of her and Andrew.  She told us how much God played an integral role in their lives and how every part of the day she wanted to be about worship, about their commitment to one another, and their commitment to God.  Immediately we thought, this girl really gets it! And that’s exactly how it felt when the day finally arrived.

Yes there were a lot of amazing details spread throughout the Grandparents farm located in Boone, NC. And there was even a nod to the royal wedding with trees in the barn/ceremony site inspired by those now famous trees in the cathedral. Buddy Fore of Grouse Moor Catering, an absolute genius in the area’s realm of event planning, catering, and decorating took care of all the details so that Erica didn’t have to.

From the gorgeous and perfectly fitted Pronovias gown to the worship ceremony with full communion, to the sparkler send off in a horse drawn carriage, every moment was simply breath-taking. We wish this happy couple a lifetime of moments just like these.

Take a look!

kirsten + nate {wedding pictures} | creative photography by pixels on paper

Kirsten and Nate are one of the most down-to-earth, easy-going, nicest couples we’ve had the good fortune of photographing.  Getting to know them over the past year has been like a reunion with old-friends. They are totally in to each other. Every time Nate looks at her you can see the love and how much he wants to be her everything.  And Kirsten always has the huge smile and big laugh whenever with Nate you can see that he is her happiness.  Oh how lucky we are to see these love stories unfold into true life and capture the images as they go along.  We look forward to seeing their marriage grow and to whatever photo sessions we get to capture during their future journey.

Rachel Samuelson and her coordinating staff at the Holiday Inn Center City Charlotte took care of everything for Kirsten and Nate’s outdoor wedding with a rooftop ceremony and ballroom reception (a great decision made the day of  to move inside due to thunderstorms that arrived mid-reception).  The pace and high-energy party was orchestrated by the awesome skills of Bethany McDonald of All The Right Grooves.  Its still exciting for us to be in middle of everything capturing wedding pictures that are going to tell their story for generations to come.

Congratulations to the newlyweds! We are happy to share their wedding photos with you.

Despite the rain at the end of the night, these two were determined to get a shot with the Charlotte skyline!  Also view their engagement photos or view and order more wedding photos on our proofing site.
