Wilkes county is one of our favorite places to be, especially this time of year. It provides the perfect backdrop for country wedding pictures and feeds our strong desire to provide creative photography to our clients. While there this past weekend we stayed busy with consults about wedding pictures, a high country NC wedding to photograph, and a waterfall inspired NC bridal portrait. Here are a few sneak peeks of the backdrops on and around Misty’s family’s farm that were used and that consistently provide abundant inspiration.

We get to work with some incredibly talented people. One of those is the oh so beautiful Kelsey Rhinehart Bunzey, the makeup artist. Kelsey teamed up with Pixels On Paper for our Trophy Bride contest offering our winner her cosmetic services on the day of their bridal photo session. The winner was Erin Goins and we recently photographed her session as well as the time she spent getting glammed up with Kelsey. We can’t yet share all the photos of the bride but we can share the preparations.
We highly recommend that anyone looking for beautiful and affordable make up services on the wedding day, for portraits, or for special occasions should definitely Email Kelsey and schedule a consult.

Sometimes the subjects in our photos are our very own pets. We are definitely biased in thinking they are super cute and worthy of our affection. Frequently when we are looking to just play around with the camera they become our test-subjects. In this case it was our Pomeranian Chelsea that we used when experimenting with stop-motion and fast camera speed. She is a tennis ball addict! Combined with being super fast and having springs in her feet, we came away with some fun pet photos and couldn’t help but share these action shots. (Tech note: f2.8 1/2000)

Meet Erica and Andrew a super sweet couple that will be getting married on June 25th. We met up with them recently on the most beautiful February day in Charlotte at the Whitewater Center to photograph their engagement portraits. They both love each other, their families, God, and the outdoors. After the gorgeous shots we captured from this e-Session we can’t wait for her bridals and their wedding at the family farm in Boone, NC.

The recent 70+ degree weather in the middle of February has had us thinking a lot about Spring and even Summer along with what the weddings we have in store will bring. Those thoughts lead us back to the images of last July’s Summer wedding we photographed in Charleston, South Carolina. If you’re like us the first thoughts of an outdoor Charleston wedding in July are of unbearable heat and 100% humidity. Lucky for us as well as our friends Erica & Mark Makowski, the Bride and Groom, that wasn’t the case. It was only in the 80s! And the images we captured that day will forever remind us of great summertime memories.
Enjoy a look back or maybe a look forward into warmer weather soon to come.
