Our studio this 2017 holiday season was a revolving door of friends, collaborators, families, children, pets and we loved it. And we took photos of them too <smirk, laugh>. Seeing the faces of some of our nearest and dearest family/friends, checking out how the children have grown and hearing about school, sports, jobs, holiday plans, what’s new for 2018 was wonderful. This time of year, a plus to photographing not only new faces, but long standing clients and pals is that we really get that time to give hugs, recalibrate, and share that sense of renewal and hope. Here are some of the faces we love!![]()

This wraps up the 3rd senior in the family of three kids – er young adults. We previously photographed Paiton and Quinton. Mom Timberli wanted photos every couple of years to capture the growth and changes in her three kids and you guys. Like her siblings, Paiton and Quinton, Maddie has transformed into a stunning young lady and amazing person.
Below: Maddie 2010, 2013 and 2017. See what I’m talking about? One minute she’s a barefooted girl, cute as the day is long, and now she’s elegance and grace. ![]()
We’ve been planning these sessions all year with Timberli who wanted each of her seniors to be photographed during different seasons. Paiton was Spring, Quinton was Summer and now Maddie in Fall. The Roberts’ family home now showcases a collection of 24″x 36″ canvases of each senior.

Here they are … and parents everywhere sigh at how fast it all goes by. Now we’re hoping to convince parents Chris and Timberli they should do a Winter session to complete the seasons. We love this family and can’t wait to see all the other milestones they have ahead of them and that we hope to photograph.

If there was a monetary payout for blue eyes, this kid would be the richest man in town. COME. ON!! ![]()
Jessica and I met years ago at girls beach trip getaway and have been friends ever since. I was so happy to get to be the one to photograph Gaven’s adorable gummy smile and capture him at this age, because we all know how fast it goes. I’ll blink and he’ll be getting his senior portraits taken.
Normally all smiles and flirtatious, on this day Gavin was a bit more serious when the camera was on him. We pulled out all the stops behind the camera including Ryan jumping up and down and running in circles, which he was going to do anyway. Might as well do it for work. <I’m ducking as I say that. HA!!> We randomly discovered that what Gavin enjoyed most was Ryan’s very loud whistle. Hey, any port in a storm and it worked!

One of the great things about shooting the photos of newborns and babies is that Ryan and I get to make new friends and family members and those amazing creatures give us guidance now that we’re expecting. Because our sons will be so close in age, Jessica is kindly giving me boy-mom advice and a ready shoulder and I’m so grateful.

Yes, this deserved a second blog. It’s not because I’m a new mom or because Mother’s Day is around the corner (it’s not, so stop sweating because you haven’t bought flowers or a new car for her………. it’s May 13th, by the way). It is just a topic that deserves more love and a second posting. As I looked through all the photos of moms, I was so moved by how different they are while still having this common thread of mother love and strength, care and joy, giving and enjoyment of their kids and their families.
So to that end – I raise a glass again to mothers of all kinds, shapes, ages and types.
